  If I could post my comments without giving any stars I would but you must click the stars to review. Bought frozen pork ribs at Newcastle market a few weeks ago and decided to have them for dinner tonight. They are the worst ribs I've ever had in my life hands down. Tough and impossible to chew. Had to spit them out because it was impossible to swallow them. Additionally, I've never seen ribs with so little meat on them and it worries me at what young age these animals are being slaughtered. My son had the same issue with pork chops he purchased. They were tiny with almost no meat on the bone and impossible to chew, let alone swallow. On the day we made our purchases, the woman had a broken antique scale and had no way of weighing our purchase or telling the correct price. So it was a matter of faith on our part that we wouldn't be swindled. All items were wrapped in pink butcher's paper so we couldn't see what we were buying. Lesson learned! I went back to the market on other days to speak to someone but they were never there when I was. Can't help but wonder if they just showed up to ditch a load of bad pork on unsuspecting people out for a nice day at the market. I intend to forward a copy of this to the people who run the market for future reference. It's a pleasant place to spend time on a Sunday and I'm sure they would discourage this type of vendor. All of this leaves a bad taste in my mouth as I look at what was to have been a lovely Sunday dinner.
